Merry Christmas!

Let me start by saying I know that I don't look very pregnant in this picture. I am not hiding it, but I still like to wear nonmaternity clothing when I can, and sometimes the belly is not noticeable. I promise, if I was turned to the side you could definitely make out a pregnant belly.

Patrick, Murtle, and I had a wonderful Christmas. We started in Rayne on the 23rd and went to Thibodaux for Christmas day. We all (William included) received some great gifts and are very thankful. I got a bike from Patrick and tried it out this morning, but my coordination is not stellar so I'm hesitant to do too much riding with William on board. I do love it and can't wait to start riding around the lakes.

The holidays are always a little stressful because Patrick and I both come from close families and would love to be with everyone, but we can't be in 2 places at once. Next year will be even trickier with the little one. I can count on one hand the Christmas mornings I spent at my own house because we were always traveling to my grandparents' houses, and I would like my children to experience Christmas morning at their own home on occasion. We are considering a 3 year rotation between Baton Rouge, Rayne, and Thibodaux, but the most important thing is being with family. We are so thankful for our families and enjoy spending time with them, so even having to make these decisions is a blessing.

Now I'm off to finish unpacking and do some reorganizing. Hopefully I'll be back soon with pictures of the nursery painted and ready to be furnished!

Third Trimester!

Today marks the beginning of my third trimester, I can't believe it! About 12 weeks left until I get to meet this little baby who seems to become more active all the time. I'm still loving all the little movements, especially when I can see my stomach moving in all directions. I went to the doctor yesterday for my blood glucose screening and all was fine. For someone who loves sugar as much as I do, that stuff was still hard to drink! The first few sips were okay, but it was disgusting by the time I finished my cup. I have become anemic, so I get to start taking iron pills, yay! I was also able to see what Braxton Hicks contractions are because I had one when the doctor went to check the heartbeat, they have been totally painless, but my stomach looks really distorted when I have one. We decided to have another 3D ultrasound done, and that will happen on January 6th. I really wanted to see everything one more time and am looking forward to it.

Construction on the nursery begins Monday, so I will be back soon with pictures. We still haven't purchased any baby furniture, but everything has been picked out and planned. Hopefully I'll make some progress with that once the "shell" of the room is complete.

O Christmas Tree

The holidays are here! I had a very busy Thanksgiving break and now I am counting down the days until Christmas. Over the weekend I was able to decorate the house for Christmas. The tree has been decorated and the stockings have been hung. The few presents I already purchased are wrapped. I even ordered our Christmas cards today!

My favorite thing about being pregnant...

So I have figured out what my favorite thing about being pregnant is, at least to this point. I absolutely love feeling baby William "swim" around inside my growing belly. It is the coolest thing in the world. Before I actually felt it I read descriptions of what if felt like, and lots of people said it felt like popcorn or bubbles popping. Sometimes that is true, but most of the time it's a pretty indescribable, amazing feeling and I am loving every minute of it.

It's a William!

It's a boy! We had our anatomy sonogram today, and above is William Patrick Ledet, Junior's best picture. Isn't he cute?! He weighs about 10 ounces and all anatomy looks normal. His heartbeat was 156. There were 2 arms, legs, hands, feet, and 10 fingers that we could see clearly. He is very active, and although I can't feel all his movements just yet, I'm sure he'll let me know just how active soon enough. The due date has stayed the same for March 11, if anything a day earlier. I can't believe it's already been about 20 weeks, and I hope the next 20 go by just as fast!

Beginnings of a bump

As requested, here is a picture of my small bump at week 18. According to the scale at school, I have gained a few pounds in the last 2 weeks, but nothing major. The number of pants that I can still wear is dwindling...I have one pair of jeans that will still button! I really wish it was cool to wear elastic waist pants or gauchos. I purchased a bella band, but it makes my stomach hurt and is pretty uncomfortable. I can't wait until my appointment on Monday, I am getting very anxious! I am praying for a healthy, normally developing baby, boy or girl. Patrick is very partial to boys, and has been telling everyone that is what we are having. I've only had a few dreams about the baby, and there was never any indication of boy/girl...so to me the baby is gender neutral. I do hope it is one or the other!
