Blog posts have been few and far between for me this year. Having two little ones is busy! I'll try to recap the past few months...
William turned 3 in March. We celebrated with his first friend birthday party at a neighborhood park. It was very low key, lots of play time with his friends and he was a happy boy. He is such a little mess, my three year old boy. Everything has to be done in threes, because he's three. The reasoning of "I'm 30 and I don't need 30 loveys, treats, toys, etc." doesn't go very far. Our obsession with Toy Story and Buzz Lightyear seems to be fading away. He enjoys most Disney Jr. and PBS kids shows, and loves that he can watch them on the IPad. He can count to 20 only skipping one or two numbers and can identify the majority of the alphabet. We are working on identifying letters with sounds. A coworker sent me home with a kindergarten math workbook which William thinks is great fun to "read". His favorite color is green and favorite treat is a snow cone. He is a fantastic, loving big brother and Elizabeth adores him. His height is still in the 92nd percentile and weight is 60th percentile.
Elizabeth is eight months old. She's sitting up like a champ and is trying to crawl. She moves all over the place, but hasn't figured out how to truly crawl yet. She's babbling a good bit, clapping, and waving occasionally. She doesn't sit still very often...she's bouncing or clapping or scooting around...and using her voice to make sure we don't forget she's there. She can be a bit dramatic if you take something away from her. Lately she has not been a fan of her carseat...something she needs to get over before our two beach trips this summer! We've done a relaxed BabyWise routine with her and I have seen such benefits. She sleeps well, eats well, and plays well. (I'm also well aware that I just jinxed myself by typing that!) She has two teeth, her height was in the 50th percentile and weight in 20th. She's a petite little thing. Her eyes are most likely brown, but they are so dark it's really hard to tell.
Patrick is still working on the interstate bridge job that has been going on FOREVER! I know that we are all going to be happy when it's complete. I'm still so thankful that he enjoys what he does, and William thinks it's pretty cool too. Every time we drive over a bridge he asks "Is this Daddy's bridge?"
The school year just wrapped up for me. It's always an adjustment going back to work after having a baby, but throwing in a new school to the mix was a lot. Education in Louisiana is being put through the ringer right now and it is super stressful. I've decided to help out a friend and pick up some PRN work at a small inpatient rehab facility this summer...it'll be interesting to use my therapy skills in a totally different environment.
That's what we've got going on right now. I'm looking forward to lazy summer days and beach trips and hopefully another LSU baseball championship!
