What we've been up to...

We've been busy trying out some new things lately.  William is growing so fast, I'm trying to make sure he gets to wear all his cute outfits several times before outgrowing them.  Some days this is easy when we have accidents which necessitate multiple clothing changes.  I remembered he got the cutest shoes from my guidance counselor at school, and luckily they still fit.

We also have started trying out our Bumbo seat.  We first tried it Sunday, but William wasn't ready or wasn't in the mood because he kept flopping his head down.  I tried it again this morning, and voila!

He did much better this time!  It looks like he's telling me he's had enough picture taking!  We still didn't last very long in the seat, but it was a huge improvement.

And lastly, I have been trying out new things with the blog.  I may have some pretty big decisions to make regarding my job, and I have been procrastinating by blog stalking which is teaching me all kinds of neat blog tricks.  First I had changed all my fonts, but Patrick wasn't a fan.  Yesterday I found a tutorial on making headers using Picasa, so while William sleeps I have been playing with Picasa.  I really like it, and hopefully my abilities using it will improve.  If only I had a new camera to take fantastic pictures...

We love our gymini!

I cannot believe my baby is already a month old! He's officially not a newborn anymore! Lately we've been hanging out on our Tiny Love Gymini Musical Kick & Discover and we love it! William hasn't done too much music discovering with it, but he seems to enjoy laying on the mat, rolling around and hitting the overhead toys. He is so vocal when he's playing, making the sweetest noises, and surprisingly Murtle leaves it alone. I think it has been our best baby purchase by far. Tiny Love boasts 21 developmental activities with the playmat which I am all about. We're trying to grow an overachiever here!

In other developments, our baby is going bald. His hairline is receding more and more each day, and I can't really tell what the new hair that should grow in its place looks like. Right now it looks like peach fuzz. His eyes are still blue and I've been researching about when they stop changing, and it appears that they can change up to 2 years, so it's still way to early to tell which color they'll be.

On the road...

Yesterday was a big day for William and I. Grandy generously treated the Ledet girls to go see Wicked in New Orleans along with dinner and hotel reservations for Easter. I really wanted to see the play, but I figured dinner and an overnight stay may be too much too soon, so Meredith came through for us and kept William for the day so I could go to the play. Here is a picture of William and his first babysitter! Thanks again, Mere!
So the play was amazing and I am so glad I went. Thanks Ms. Lynn for an awesome gift!

However, I feel like I should share some of the drama surrounding this excursion. I kinda pride myself on being punctual, but I'm still learning to adjust my timing to include William and his needs. We left BR with ample time to drop him off at Meredith's and meet up with everyone at the hotel before riding together to the play. I put her address into my maps on my phone, but it showed me taking the Causeway exit, which I've never taken to get there before, so I thought I was smarter than google maps and decided I wasn't taking that exit. My first mistake! I-10 E was closed at the 10-610 split, right after the Causeway exit that I should have taken, so we were stuck in mega traffic for 45 minutes at least. I realized meeting up at the hotel wasn't going to happen, so I'd just have to drive to the theater. I called Meredith and was giving her "instructions" for William as I was driving to her house. I am so thankful William is a good traveler because he slept the entire time.

After I dropped off the little man, I googled the theater address for directions. I knew it was on N Rampart, which I'm kinda familiar with after Patrick spent so much time in NOLA, and I couldn't remember seeing a theater there, but I trusted the address this time. So I'm driving to the theater and it's time for William to eat, but he's not with me and I really needed to relieve some pressure, so I bravely pull out the manual hand pump and try to discreetly pump at red lights and I'm hoping and praying no one looks at my car! I got a few strange looks but everything but the pump was completely hidden, so I'm sure there were some very puzzled drivers. So I'm driving, occasionally pumping, and looking for this theater, which I'm not seeing. It's now 2:10 and the play started at 2:00. I finally called the theater and a very nice man talked me to the theater and I made it there in one piece and only missed a little of the play. It took a few minutes to relax but once I did I thoroughly enjoyed the play and now I want to reread the book. What an experience! We were exhausted when we finally made it back to BR, and I don't think William and I are leaving the house today!

William's First Easter

Happy Easter!

We spent our Easter holiday in Franklin and Rayne. We started at the levee camp outside of Franklin on Friday and Saturday. There was a crawfish boil Friday and then Friday evening William posed for his newborn pictures, which I am so anxious to see. Saturday we just hung out at the camp and William was able to meet some of his extended family before heading to Rayne that evening. On Sunday we went to Mass then headed to Kinder for the Klein Easter egg hunt. I can't wait for next year when William will be able to participate in the festivities, but this year the Easter bunny was especially good to the little man and he is very thankful for all his goodies.

I can't believe how fast William is growing! Patrick and I were just looking at him the other day and he looks so big and long. His focus is improving everyday and he stays awake so much more. During his photo shoot on Friday he was trying to scoot all over the place, then last night he pretty much scooted across my lap! I'm happy he's so strong, but I really don't want him to grow up too fast.
