Happy Birthday, Baby Girl

Do I even still have any readers out there?  I know it's been awhile, but Elizabeth deserves a post of her own so I'm here writing.

Where to begin with my sweet, silly girl?  She brings so much joy to all of us.  She is silly enough to counter William's seriousness.  The two of them adore each other (when they aren't snatching each others' toys).  He calls her "Liz".

She loves to dance and "wiggle, wiggle."  Her favorite book is Moo, Baa, La La La.  She likes to play with any/all of William's toys and will make the "vrmmm"  sound when playing with his trucks.  She's starting to play with her baby doll a little and will give it a bottle.

She likes to comb her hair and loves when I put lotion on her face.  When she's wearing a shirt or dress that has a little "swing" to it she knows it and will sashay around feeling it swish.  She thinks it's hilarious to pull a bow out of her hair two seconds after I put it in...she'll look at me and shake her head no as she does it.

She has several word approximations for book, dada, mama, eye, out, uh oh.  She shakes her head no when I try to give her something she doesn't want.  She signs more occasionally.  She waves, but more to say hello than bye.  She'll lean in to receive a kiss, but likes to play with Patrick and push him away sometimes when he tries.

She's a pretty good sleeper.  She really likes to go to sleep by 7:30 at the latest and will wake up around 7 (6:30 during the week).  I'll rock her for a few minutes, then she asks for a book that we read and then I put her in her bed.  She'll shimmy around to get comfortable, play with her blanket and fall asleep.  She wants her bottle.  She'll drink from a cup, but will drink 1/2 milk 1/2 formula from her bottle easily.  She'll eat pretty much anything if she can finger feed but gets tired of being spoon fed. She enjoys a popsicle treat in the afternoon.

She started sitting at 6 months, crawling around 8 months, standing up by herself around 9 months and by 10 months was full on walking.  She's working up to a run now.

She had her first two bottom teeth around 7 months and the top two just poked out about a week ago.  Just like William, she shows no real interest in Sophie the Giraffe.  She'd rather chew on her toothbrush.

You know all those things the pediatrician warns you the child may start doing when you go for the well visits?  Well, Elizabeth does them.  Everything goes in her mouth, which made beach trips this summer interesting.  She also has no fear.  She walked straight to the water in Grand Isle without looking back at me once.

She and her infant room teacher, Ms. Cindy, love each other.  Elizabeth is starting to transition to an older class, but Ms. Cindy goes to get her every afternoon for their fix of each other.

Happy Birthday, my baby girl.  I love you!
